Desperately Seeking Volunteers

August 11, 2009 – 11:01 am

Tour de Troit keeps growing and, as such, so does its volunteer needs! We are looking for some hands to help with the following tasks:

Registration: 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. You can help out during the pre-ride madhouse, and still ride!

Food Distribution: 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. OR 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Pre-ride needs are for coffee and carbs, post-ride is for more of a meal.

Clean-up: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Best part of this job is finishing the keg.

Sweepers: We need about a dozen more experienced cyclists to join our sweeper squad. You must be able to fix flats and have experience corking.

SAG Vehicle Driver: We need one driver and one van. (We have one van and one driver already.)

There will be a pre-ride meeting for all volunteers the week after Labor Day and a wrap party about a month after the tour. Interested? Contact Bil at info@tour-de-troit.org.

  2. “Corking”? Is there a reason why sweepers need to block traffic?

  3. With such a large group of riders, sometimes the police can use a hand at intersections. TdT
