Getting hungry?

August 25, 2009 – 11:48 am

The Tour de Troit has always been pretty food-focused…the traditional Slow’s pig sure upped the ante a few years back. In that tradition, we are really excited to announce our food sponsors for 2009. We are working with Savor Southwest, an entity that markets Southwest Detroit restaurants under the umbrella of several area non-profits, including the Tour de Troit sponsor organization, Greater Corktown Development Corporation.

Morning Fuel:
Great Lakes Coffee
Carbs from Chilango’s Bakery
PBJs with locally-made bread from Brown’s Bakery

Rest stop:
Nutri-Bars from Whole Foods
Michigan apples from Eastern Market Corp.
Vitamin Water

After-event:
Vegetarian options from Organaman & Moo Moo’s
Slow’s Bar B Que shredded (on-site!) pork sandwiches
Mudgie’s Deli cole slaw
Subs from Gonellas
Telway sliders
Tacos, beans & rice from Honeybee Market
Spinach pies from Dearborn Bakery
Beer from Arbor Brewing
Clif Bar Quench

  2. Do you think the food will be more accessible this year? Perhaps multiple lines.

Last year I waited 30 minutes in line about 75 yards back and it never moved so I just rode home and got lunch.

    Otherwise a great event.

  3. We have a lot more restaurants involved, and are doing our best to get better every year with regards to registration and food! TdT
