The Tour de Troit and Greater Corktown Development Corp. would like to extend a hearty welcome and an even heartier thanks to our new sponsors this year, which include:
And of course, eternal thanks to our long-time sponsors. We love you!
We are up to 964 registrants! Wow!
Anyone registering between now and September 11 will still pay the original fee of $30 ($25 students). After that date, the price starts jumping. So even though you do not get a free t-shirt, there is still incentive to register now.
On that note, we are asking that anyone that registers from today on realize that a t-shirt does not come included with their registration. We understand that you might have just found out about the ride or that you were prevented from registering prior to the cut-off date for a very good reason, but we need to set a date and stick with it in order to get the shirts to the printer on time with a reasonable estimate of the number of riders we will be accomodating. We do bump that number up, and will be selling a limited amount of t-shirts after the ride. Thanks for your understanding.
You have until 5 pm today to register for the Tour de Troit and receive a t-shirt! Head to http://tourdetroit.eventbrite.com/ to do so!
One of our stalwart sponsors, Canine to Five, has agreed to offer all Tour de Troit riders 50% off daycare on the day of the ride. Call now to make a reservation! 313-831-DOGS (3647).

Let your pooch have as fun of a day in Detroit as you do on September 19!
The Tour de Troit has always been pretty food-focused…the traditional Slow’s pig sure upped the ante a few years back. In that tradition, we are really excited to announce our food sponsors for 2009. We are working with Savor Southwest, an entity that markets Southwest Detroit restaurants under the umbrella of several area non-profits, including the Tour de Troit sponsor organization, Greater Corktown Development Corporation.

Tour de Troit keeps growing and, as such, so does its volunteer needs! We are looking for some hands to help with the following tasks:
Registration: 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. You can help out during the pre-ride madhouse, and still ride!
Food Distribution: 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. OR 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Pre-ride needs are for coffee and carbs, post-ride is for more of a meal.
Clean-up: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Best part of this job is finishing the keg.
Sweepers: We need about a dozen more experienced cyclists to join our sweeper squad. You must be able to fix flats and have experience corking.
SAG Vehicle Driver: We need one driver and one van. (We have one van and one driver already.)
There will be a pre-ride meeting for all volunteers the week after Labor Day and a wrap party about a month after the tour. Interested? Contact Bil at info@tour-de-troit.org.
MotorCity Casino Hotel is our lodging partner once again this year. The special rate of $129 per night is available on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19. When booking your room, use “Wheelhouse Detroit Bike Shop” as your discount code.

Tour de Troit will be hanging out at the Bicycle Film Festival this weekend. Four programs — two a night — chock-full of cycling movies.
